Wellness Series: Start at the Root of Your Habits

As humans we are hard wired to want a certain degree of social acceptance. This is great when you’re relationships align with your values and purpose.

But when your support system can’t get behind your lifestyle changes, you’ll find yourself stuck carrying more weight.

We see this a lot with people trying to lose weight. They spend much of their time with people who are not making good lifestyle choices. Let’s face it – we tend to behave like those we surround ourselves with.

If you want to change your life, you have to figure out how to spend more time with those who live the kind of lifestyle you want to live.

Build a solid foundation by surrounding yourself with people who not only support your weight loss goals, but are there to encourage you on every step of your journey.

It’s not weight loss you want; it’s wellness.

Wellness Series: Get off the Sidelines

So many people are living a lifestyle that contributes to poor health and low quality of life.

What we’ve learned over time is that people can change. They can be transformed. And that’s what we do.

We want to help people become on the outside who they’ve always known they were on the inside.

It really is a transformation. You can do it no matter how overweight and out of shape. You can transform yourself and you can be the person that you’ve always wanted to be.

You can get off the sidelines and you can get back to living your life.

It’s not weight loss you want; it’s wellness.

Wellness Series: Eat Smarter, Not Less

Drastically reducing your daily food intake is not the answer. In fact, it is a recipe for weight loss failure.

People have been trying to lose weight by eating less for decades – unsuccessfully.

Yes, eating less will get the weight off, but it won’t keep it off. Our bodies are not built to restrict food intake. They are built to turn food into energy.

Yes you can restrict your food for a while, but eventually you will get hungry and then you over eat and regain the weight.

The answer is increasing your exercise so you can consume more calories and learning to eat smarter rather than eating less. Replace the advice to eat less and move more with advice to move more and eat smarter.

instead of skipping meals so you can binge later, fuel your body with whole natural foods throughout the day and give your body the time and space to use that energy properly, via exercise.

Wellness Series: Get Comfortable With Your Weight

When your main motivation to lose weight is to look better, you’ll never see sustainable changes. Skinny won’t make you happy any more than sleeping with a book on your head will make you smarter.

You really need to find that motivation that comes from deep inside; that comes from your purpose and values. When you find this, that’s when success really starts to stick.

It’s not weight loss you want; it’s wellness.

New Theme Park Healthy Food Options Widely Accepted

Are you and your family headed out to Disney World for spring break this year? You might be (pleasantly) surprised to find some new, healthier sides and beverages with your kids’ meals at each of the 145 restaurants throughout the theme park.

This change to the kid’s meal doesn’t increase the purchase price – only what’s provided within it. By default, the french fry sides have been replaced by fruits or vegetables and sodas have been replaced with low-fat milk or water.
